Defence Summit

Initiated and implemented Ipswich region’s first Defence Summit, branded as the Queensland Defence Summit:
Ipswich 2018. This summit received extremely positive feedback from the industry.

Scale-up Program

Development and implementation of Ipswich Industry Readiness Scale Up Program, the region’s first SME Scale Up
program to engage regional defence and manufacturing sectors.

Rising Star of the Year 2020

Defence Connect Australian Industry Award for Rising Star of the Year 2020.

Avalon Business Mission

Businesses in Ipswich are now on a trajectory to grow the defence industry following a successful delegation to the 2019 Australian International Airshow held in Geelong held from 26 February to 1 March 2019.

Education, Skills Development and International Relations

IREC - Regional Educational Consortium

Established the Ipswich Region Education Consortium (IREC) to accelerate growth of education and training industry.

–to accelerate growth of education and training industry, successfully established the City’s first education steering committee, the Ipswich Region Education
Consortium, coordinated by myself, with members including Deputy Vice Chancellor

– International (USQ), Managing
Director of UIL, General Manager of TAFE Queensland, Principals of nine schools. I have secured approximately
$150,000 funding from consortium members and Queensland Government during 2018 – 2019.

International Relations

Lead project team to assist in Sister City engagement with Japan, China, and India; successful coordination of Mayoral missions from Taiwan, Board of Education visit from and CEO business mission to in 2019.



Skills Development

Successfully negotiated a grant funding of $350,000 and created a position to undertake regional investment skills
analysis for the City of Ipswich.

As the Principal Policy Officer I coordinated and developed the Renewable Energy Industry Development Plan as advice into the Cabinet Submission on discussion papers for QLD Renewable Energy.



Skilled Migration

As the Principal Policy Officer (Business Migration Unit),

Lead development officer for Queensland Government’s State and Territory Nominated Independent Visa review and Cabinet Submission process.

Reviewed business and skilled migration programs to facilitate skills and investment projects.

Provided advice to Skilled Migration Inter-Departmental Committee, as its Secretariat.


An overview of my achievements with Trade and Investment Queensland


Established a regional, state and overseas food network, provided advice on new clients, trade missions, opportunities and business matching initiatives on a fortnightly basis through a newsletter – Queensland Food Update.


Initiated, project managed, and secured grant to execute the Queensland Famers Market program, prepared 10 agrifood suppliers to export to South East Asia.


Coordinated the processed food export strategy, in collaboration with the then Department of Primary Industries, Austrade and relevant agencies and established Trade Queensland’s first Food Export Update in 2007.


Coordinated export and investment projects, assisted over 80 clients from Queensland and South Asia.


Coordinated Prime Minister of India’s visit program and CEO introductions.


Built and developed high profile relationships with captains of South Asian corporates for their investment interests in the Queensland market, and presented them with potential opportunities along with guidance on regulatory environment and comprehensive market intelligence.


Assisted in recruitment of high growth clients, advice on their project to overseas key decision makers during the Premier’s Trade Mission to India in 2012.


Managed and coordinated food buyers missions to Queensland from Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, Europe and China.


Developed South Asia Strategic Project Reports on Emerging Industries including: Water, Food &Agri, Bio Health, Sports Infrastructure & Events Management.


Managed South Asia team in Brisbane and Bangalore Trade Office Coordination, weekly meetings and KPI reporting.


Developed and maintained strong relationships and networks with a broad range of key stakeholders including local state and national governments, boards and committees, peak industry bodies and different educational institutions.


Led South Asia Strategic Project – Emerging Industries including: Water, Food/Agri, Bio Health, Sports Infrastructure & Events Management.


Actively built and managed strong relationships with other Australian Government agencies (like Austrade, DFAT) and state Government agencies and delivered tangible outcomes to Australian businesses.


Maintenance of client relationship database, validation and accuracy of records on project and client pipelines.


Project managed as mission manager at the Marine Trade Mission to India in 2008 with seven marine and boating related organisations. Undertook follow up that resulted in six companies achieving export success in eighteen months. 


Established a sports infrastructure consortium with 7 Queensland companies, facilitated market introductions and business development with overseas TIQ and Austrade networks. As a result these companies delivered Commonwealth Games projects in India.


Provided legal, contractual and market advice to stakeholders, in preparation to establish Queensland Government’s first office in Bangalore and Beijing Office .


Facilitated promotion and advocacy for Queensland Indigenous arts in Europe and the USA, worked closely with art dealers, the trade and investment offices in the USA and London.


Initiated development of Qld consortia to introduce to key project owners for the CG2010 in India.


Provided export advice for market entry to business expansion to almost 100 small to medium sized food and agribusiness exporters. Managed Queensland’s supplier mission to the Singapore Farmers Market in 2005. This assisted exporters in achieving $14 million export outcome.


Delivered International opportunities report on  Agricultural technology and Innovation opportunities, trends and issues across markets – to leverage on Queensland Government’s policy initiatives.


Mapped potential interest of global value chains to access expertise from Queensland investment in Queensland, across life sciences, bio, and health related areas.


Managed strong relationships with top management at Adani Group – India’s largest investor into Australia.

PROJECTS | University of Queensland

 Research Scholar

  • Led a Team of Tutors to assist in developing international business tutorial material.


  • Developed international competitiveness strategy for Australian fresh produce supply chain in Malaysia.and Singapore.


  • Built a strategic stakeholder network, including decision makers from producers to consumers, to follow product from growing end, packing, distribution, importer, supermarkets, and consumers.


  • Gathered intelligence on markets, customers, and competitors, undertook complex analysis to identify and assess key attributes contributing to the success of Australian fresh produce export in South East Asia.


  • Led development of data collection matrix for customer survey, and conducted 2200 face to face interviews over a three-year period in Malaysia. The findings contributed to gain in-depth understanding of customer demand for Australian fresh produce.


  • Authored and presented paper on the findings of the result at Australian Agri-food Conference and International Food and Agribusiness Management Association conference in Chicago, USA.
